This is Why People Want Greater Gun Control

Increasing gun control may seem like a terrible idea to some people but, lets face it, there are some people who shouldn't have guns.

There will always be cases like 18-year-old widow, Sarah McKinley of Oklahoma who shot and killed an intruder in her home on New Year's Eve. This is a perfect example of when having a gun is not only preferred, but almost necessary. The weapon was properly used against a man who had terrorized and then broken into her home and she was protecting not only herself but also her infant son. Good for you Sarah.

Other examples provide plenty of amusement but I certainly wish they weren't allowed a gun.

In fact, just this week William Oller, Sr. (70) of California shot his son three times as well as shooting himself in the leg during a fight. At first you would think that maybe the son had instigated a physical altercation. At the very least it must have been a very serious disagreement. But no. The shooting incident was prompted by Oller, Sr. not wanting to listen to his son sing karaoke. And he didn't just pull out the gun and shoot. He had the presence of mind to go out to his truck and get his gun as his son locked him out of the house. When the son thought his father was gone he unlocked the door to find his father waiting for him, still ready to shoot!

Forget the terrorists, I think we have more to fear from stupid people like this.

  1. "Stupid is as stupid does" as Forrest Gump said (did he say that or am I paraphrasing?).

    1. I love it when a quote comes together, to paraphrase Hannibile Smith from The A-Team.
